Frequently Asked Questions
Local Gippsland hardwood — predominantly gum species that burn long and hot in a wood heater. It comes from our own tree work across the region, processed and seasoned in our yard, so you're burning local timber rather than trucked-in mystery wood.
Yes — wood is split and stacked to season properly before sale. Green wood wastes half its energy boiling off moisture and coats your flue in creosote; seasoned hardwood lights easier, burns hotter and keeps the chimney safer.
We deliver across the Latrobe Valley and wider Gippsland. Delivery is by the load, tipped where access allows — tell us where you want it and we'll get it as close as the truck can go. Stacking can be arranged if you need it.
We sell honest measures and we'll tell you the volume of the load when you order — no fluffed-up trailer loads. If you're not sure how much a winter takes, tell us your heater and house size and we'll recommend a starting quantity.
Autumn at the latest — every year the first cold snap empties every wood yard in the Valley at once. Ordering ahead means better availability, and the wood has time to sit under cover at your place before you need it.
Firewood, delivered across Gippsland
We process our own firewood on a dedicated machine. Red gum — a long, hot burn — is $240 plus GST per cubic metre, pickup or delivered, with a minimum of five cubic metres for delivery and delivery charged by distance. For current mixed hardwood pricing, give us a call, because it moves with the season.
