Why a truck-mounted machine changes your schedule

The working height of a machine is what people compare. How it gets to site is what actually decides your start date. A truck-mounted tower drives itself, and that removes three separate things from the front of the job: booking a float, booking a crane at both ends, and arranging a transport permit for an oversize load.

It also removes a failure point. Every one of those bookings is a dependency, and a machine that arrives on time but cannot be lifted off until the afternoon has still cost you a morning. When the machine drives on and drives off, the only thing that has to go right is the drive.

The same applies at the other end and in the middle. If the job moves to a second site, the machine drives there. If the hire ends, it drives home. Nothing is collected, nothing sits in a yard waiting for a pick-up window. The trade-off is that a truck needs to fit through the entrance and needs somewhere solid to put its legs.
