Anyone can hand you a truck on a good day. The real question is what happens on a bad one. With a large hire company a breakdown means you park it up, go home and wait — days, sometimes weeks — while you hire elsewhere at short-term rates out of your own pocket. That is not how we operate.

Between us — arborists, mechanics and auto electricians who have been operating and repairing these machines for decades — there is very little we haven’t already seen. Most of the time we talk you through the fix there and then.

If it can’t be fixed on the phone, we know the right people

We have trusted contacts right around Melbourne who specialise in these machines. Years of them maintaining our own fleet means they make room for our clients the same day — or our own mechanic comes out to you.

If the truck won’t move, we swap it out

You don’t organise a thing. Our heavy-haulage contacts collect the truck and we send a replacement straight out: call us at midday, tower into Melbourne by around 2pm, your crew back at work the next morning.

If it’s a bigger repair, you still don’t wait

You get a replacement tower on the spot while yours is being repaired, however long that takes. And on wear-and-tear breakdowns we cover the running around ourselves — no charge to run a truck down to you.

Real example

A job that shows the difference

A protected avenue tree with line threaded through the canopy, on a street where the council would not accept damage to the crown. A straight telescopic machine could reach the height, but only by working up through the tree.

The articulated tower went up and over instead, putting the basket in above the work and outside the canopy. The pruning was done to the arborist’s spec, the tree was not driven through, and there was no argument afterwards — which on a protected tree is most of the job.

Can you work on protected or significant trees?

We hire the machine that makes careful work possible — an articulated tower reaches over a canopy rather than through it. The permits and the arborist’s method statement are between you and the council; if you want the work done as well as the machine supplied, take it as a wet hire and our crew does it.

How close to live conductors can it work?

The towers are insulated and rated for live-line work, and are electrically tested every six months in our own workshop. The approach distances themselves come from the network operator and from the ticket your operator holds — we supply a machine that is rated and certified for the conversation.

Do you hire to councils and contractors, or only to trade?

Both. A good part of our work is with councils, utilities and their contractors, and the certification paperwork travels with the machine so a site induction is straightforward.
